Fred Schneider (July 1, 1951 - ) of Athens, Georgia is the lead male singer of The B-52's. He is gay and has released two solo albums, ''Fred Schneider & the Shake Society'' (1991) and ''Just Fred'' (1996), the latter produced by Steve Albini.He also appeared in ''The Flintstones'' (1994) and his voice in ''The Rugrats Movie'' (1998). He is credited in the Nickeledeon cartoon "Rocko's Modern Life" for the theme song vocals.
