right
He was born as Gianfranco Randone on the 5th of January, 1970, in Sicily. He was born in a passionate, musically-motivated family and was inspired at a young age to do music. His father was a guitarist and a talented saxophone player. Before he was almost two, he appeared on stage for the first time. Whether he was performing in a musical or a play is unknown. In 1972, his family moved to USA and settled in Brooklyn, New York City, New York. They lived there for a period of over ten years, and it was during this time that Jeffrey's younger brother, Adrian Lee, was born. Jeffrey himself has said that he was a lazy child, especially in class, indicating that he may have suffered from low grades. In 1984, the Randone family moved back to Italy, and Jeffrey has recalled only knowing "one, two and three" and a profane term in Italian. When he was fifteen, he had discovered that computers - which happened to be a great interest of his - had been used by many recording artists to make music, thus linking his two loves. He began studying music. In 1991, he was at a record store and bumped into Massimo Gabutti, head of what was just a small record company at the time - Bliss Corporation. Through assistance from Gabutti, Jeffrey launched his music career as the singer of Bliss Team. Through this time, he was studying Accounting at university but couldn't finish his degree due to the success of the dance hit "Love Is Forever", from which he reverted to working at Bliss Corporation. Through out the 1990s he met future band mates Maurizio Lobina and Gabry Ponte, who was a DJ collaborating with many groups such as Da Blitz. In 1998, Maurizio and Jeffrey composed Blue (Da Ba Dee), mostly out of boredom, and released the song, which at first received little profit. A few months later, it started to become locally popular, then nationally, before finally it was released internationally. Reaching number 1 in many countries, Jeffrey grouped with Maurizio and Gabry, and formed Eiffel 65. They released their debut album, Europop in 1999.Second album Contact was released in 2001. A self-titled album followed in 2003, and was almost all in Italian, although an English version of the album was released soon after. Their fourth album, which has been indicated that its style will be electro-pop cross rock, is due to be released in September, 2005.
