René Dif was born on the 17 October 1967 in Copenhagen, Denmark. René is best known as the male vocalist in pop-dance group Aqua.
Childhood
René Dif was born to an Algerian father and a Danish mother, on October 17th1967. The young Libran was soon followed with two younger brothers and one sister. He was never into school and was actually kicked out of many that he tried to attend. But René wasn't lazy. He was always doing something, whether it was working on bikes, baking cakes, or delivering newspapers in his native Frederiksberg, Denmark. René quit school after the ninth grade and became a cabin boy on an ocean liner. While in the Barbados, René heard a local DJ on the radio and decided that was the life for him. He packed up a case-full of borrowed CD singles and left for Norway to pursue this ambitious goal. He eventually found success.
Early Years
The opportunity to work as a DJ not only brought René to the conclusion that it was the dance music that fascinated him the most, but also gave him the chance to meet other professionals in the field. Among the many DJ’s and promoters he met at that time was Ali, someone who shared strong interests in music style with René. Together they formed the band Factual Beat, resulted in a music album called "''Groove Your Soul''" and it's debut single release "I Believe" on their back. Although their album didn’t hit the charts as they had hoped, it served as a platform for both Ali and René to stage their abilities. Ali came to realize how much he enjoyed composing music and René proved to be an able singer. Not surprisingly, the two decided to go their separate ways. René set about forming Joyspeed, and Ali began to produce music for himself "Simply known as DJ ALIGATOR".
